4.6 Conclusion
As stated in the introduction of Chapter 4, the solution of the
interior boundary value problem
by the boundary element method is well-established.
The results in Figures 4.A, 4.B,
4.D, 4.E and 4.F
show the accuracy of the method on the three
test boundaries by comparing computed and exact solutions.
The results from the two-dimensional car show a series of
peaks in the sound pressure. The peaks are the outcome
of acoustic resonances. The determination of the frequencies at
which the peaks occur in this type of problem
is the subject of Chapter 6.
